Matt LaJoie – “Guardian Wing”

Following some bonus recordings from the sessions, out earlier this month, Matt Lajoie has announced his final piece in his elemental cycle, a representation of air entitled On Guardian Wing. A shortened version of the title track makes its way out today, capturing the lightness and effervescence of spring air. The song reverberates off of the sky in sparkling waves. Like their elemental counterpoints themselves, this piece feels like a compliment to the works on Everlasting Spring, Matt’s exploration of water from a few years back. The piece pushes against the tips of the waves. It spreads rain and returns to the clouds. The song loops and lifts like birds’ wings on wind, soaring through the speakers with a delightful freedom. The new album arrives from Flower Room on May 5th.
