Vanishing Twin – “Lazy Garden”

Always full of Radiophonic wonder, Vanishing Twin let loose a new cut this week off of their upcoming new LP for Fire Records. The band’s been bathing in the rippled runoff of The United States of America and 50 Foot Hose, and the last few years have found them picking up the yolk left slack in the wake of Trish Keenan’s passing. The new single, “Lazy Garden,” especially finds itself wandering through the Witch Cults of the Radio Age-era works of Broadcast, moving from sound collage to psych-pop fever dream in cascading waves. Beaded with vibraphone and burbled percussion, the song shifts in kaleidoscope colors behind Cathy Lucas’ perfectly clouded vocals. The new album, Afternoon X, is out October 6th from Fire.
