Trummors – “I Can Still Make Cheyenne”

Avatar

RSTB faves Trummors return with a new single today, a cover of George Strait’s “I Can Still Make Cheyenne.” The band, already a deft hand at covers, tackled Pamela Polland’s unreleased gem “Tulsa County,” (made a bit more famous Son Volt in the ‘90s) on their last album Dropout City. The band takes equal care with the Strait cut, turning in a tender rendition that feels like it might sail off into the heat quiver of an afternoon sun at any moment. The band captures the ache and beauty of the song, turning it from a timeworn classic into a Trummors staple in no time. The band’s new album, 5, is out April 12th from Ernest Jenning Record Co.
