SUSS – “Flight”

Avatar

NYC’s premiere purveyors of ambient country return with a new album on the way for Northern Spy. The first peek behind the curtain is “Flight,” a lightly pulsing cut that pairs its synth syncopation with yearning guitars and a soft blanket of steel. With a twilight flicker, the song settles in, blinking like a beacon on faraway radio tower as the stars begin to dot the sky. The song speaks to possibility and hope, but with an undercurrent of resignation. Maybe tomorrow will be better… but even if it isn’t, that’s ok too. The new album, Birds & Beasts, is out June 28th from Northern Spy.
