Steel Fringe – “Klickitat County”

If your heart’s attuned to the Cosmic American breezes, your ears and eyes should be scanning the offerings from Curation Records. The West Coast Outpost has been a constant wellspring of the best and most bucolic gems over the past few years and they’ve dug into one more this week with the new EP from Steel Fringe. The band pays homage to their Washington roots with “Klickitat County,” a new single that’s aloft on cool mountain air and baked by the late summer sun. The band sets the scene in their new video, shot in the titular county, exploring the Columbia Gorge where the song was formed and forged. A sun-washed shimmer of steel, strums, and piano underpins the band’s layered harmonies, capturing the warmth and wonder of the wooded setting. The new EP is out in May from Curation.
