Hollow Ship – “Utsuro Bune”

Gothenburg’s Hollow Ship return with a new album of instrumentals that were forged from a visual collaboration with artist and animator Freddy Wallin. The band’s name was derived from a 19th century legend of a Japanese UFO sighting and that’s further explored in the first cut from the new album, “Utsuro Bune.” Mixing psych, prog, and the heavier end of the soundtrack spectrum, the band creates a work of sweeping sonics and auditory tension. Heavy and driving, the track sees the band carve synth lines around a bedrock of propulsive drums and throbbing, yet nimble guitar. The new single is out now from PNKSLM with the full cycle of songs out soon.
