Always a welcome sight around here, the pride of Bloomington, IN, The Cowboys, return for their sixth album. The band has long been riding the lines between garage, power pop, and a greased, sweat-mingled vision of R&B rumble and they bring it all back to the table for Sultan of Squat. The band lead with the title track and its infected with a lighthearted pop bounce that’s just the thing to sop up the swelter of summer. Bouncing through the speakers on spry hooks and Keith Harman’s room-filling croon. The song bubbles with life, as crisp and clear as anything in the band’s catalog. The new record arrives, August 25th from Feel It Records.
