Sachet – “Crushing Whims (Ride)”

A new EP crests the horizon from Aussie faves Sachet. The short-format shaker is preceded by the new single “Crushing Whims (Ride).” Atop a nest of bass and propulsive riffs, the single sets Lani Crooks’ vocals to the forefront. As with their past works, her voice hits like a velvet hammer — cool and calm, but absolutely knocking the listener with every line. The band retains their hook into the hangover of the ‘90s, but still makes it feel more like it’s a sound that’s been bubbling in their bloodlines rather than a pastiche put on. The song opens up the new EP, The Seeing Machine, which finds its way to listeners in full on February 23rd from Tenth Court.
