Parsnip – “The Light”

Avatar

A vital jangler out of the South-Hemi today brings news of a new album from RSTB faves Parsnip. The Aussie band preps their second album for Anti-Fade and Upset The Rhythm, leading off with a sunshine strummer called “The Light.” The band has, in the past, garnered comparisons to Dolly Mixture and Marine Girls. While those elements are still present in the fizzy new single, a dash of organ and stacked harmonies adds elements of ‘60s pop as well, sifting through the sanguine sunbeams of The Free Design, Yellow Balloon, or The Mamas and Papas. The band rides the line between those pasts with ease, with this single feeling like an old favorite that’s been waiting around to be discovered. Behold is out April 26th.
