Mod Con – “Learner in an Alpha”

A ferocious second single from Aussies Mod Con throttles out of the gate with a sneer and scathing rhythm. Swapping between a voice of rich indifference and nail-bitten future anxiety, the band captures the two sides of the coin that have consigned us to our current fates. Social context aside, the song is one of the band’s best, a throbbing, insistent bit of muscular punk lead by Erica Dunn’s lacerating vocals. While the bass cracks in immediately, the rest of the song creeps in slow before exploding on the chorus. What Mod Con were threatening on their debut has come to fruition on their sophomore LP. Modern Condition is out October 22nd from Poison City.
