Velociraptor – “Computer Future Pt 1”

A familiar name rises out of the Aussie underground today with news of a new album from Velociraptor. Been a few years since I’ve heard from the band, but the expansive collective return, glossed and gorging on a New Wave cocktail of Devo, Tubeway Army, and Ultravox. The first single out of the gate is “Computer Future Part 1,” a nervy, searing slice of synth punk if there ever was one. The drums crash with motorik precision, guitars chew on the steel and circuits of a technological nightmare, and George Browning lays down the dystopian howl with the best of ‘em.
