Little Wings – “Bubbles Go Pop”

An old favorite rendered anew here today, with news of an upcoming Little Wings album looming on the breeze. The record finds Kyle breaking out of his usually relaxed saunter for a bit of a more sprightly pace. Allegedly working to beat the runnout of the reel of tape that they’d brought for the sessions, the record skips along with a more robust ramble and a nod to Irish folk. Album opener “Bubbles Go Pop” lopes in storybook stroll, feeling like it’s roaming the hills and soaking in the sun. With an Old Hollywood pound on the piano and a smattering of percussive knocks, this Little Wings shakes the sleep out of its eyes and the moss out of its hair. The new record, High on the Glade, arrives April 1st from Perpetual Doom.
