Flowertown – “The Ring”

One of the Bay Area’s finest lets out a new single today, adding a much-needed dose of downy jangle and hiss-toasted harmony into the air. The band’s been holding down the gauzier end of the indie pop spectrum, with members crossing between local luminaries Cindy, Tony Jay, and April Magazine. Like many of the duo’s works, the song is cloaked in quietude, a whispered secret swaddled in the subtle click of drums and strums that creep into the room like shafts of sun through the clouds. The new record, Tourist Language, is out February 29th, from Paisley Shirt Records.
