Lady Apple Tree – “Lady Apple Tree”

Los Angeles songwriter Haylie Hostetter announces a debut EP under her moniker Lady Apple Tree. Her new single carries the namesake of both her band and the EP this morning, a sweetly-stung country ramble that dips into the current revival of Canyon folk and country — feeling like a kindred spirit to Ronstadt, Sill, and The International Submarine Band — while also taking a turn towards the more Southern songbook, echoing the kind of sun-on-the-hills country of Porter & Dolly. Bathed in a warmth and ease, the four minutes that this song spends on the speakers will likely be just about the most relaxed moments of your day. Hostetter’s new EP features some familiar names around these parts — Cameron Knowler, Connor “Catfish” Gallaher (The Myrrors), and Ryan Miller (Pearl Charles, Drugdealer) all contribute to the record.
