Half Stack – “I Might Try”

Very nice to see RSTB faves Half Stack back today with word of a new album. The band lets loose the album opener, “I Might Try” as the first single — a heartsick, hammock-swung cut that’s got a bit of wind in its hair. There’s still a good dose of Cosmic Americana draped around the band’s sound, but they’re not as beholden to the country careen as some of their peers. “I Might Try,” deals with isolation and a loss of connection, a feeling of being unmoored and unsure without one’s close friends. There’s a wistfulness to the delivery, slightly ambling through that canyon but mostly caught up in the clouds and riding on the breeze. The band’s new album, Sitting Pretty, is out October 6th from Royal Oakie in the US / November 3rd in the UK/EU from Forged Artifacts.
