Eli Winter Offers Up Live Album, A Day Behind The Deadline

Avatar

The Bandcamp Friday gems roll on today (despite the Songtradr cloud overhead) with a new treat out of the Three Lobed family. Eli Winter has long been a staple around here, solo and on his more expansive eponymous album from last year, also on the Lobe. That album hints at a broader sound that comes to life in the live sphere. With the addition of Tyler Damon on the kit, the last album opened up beyond the wooded enclaves of folk. Damon joins Eli on the road alongside Pedal Steel-slinger Sam Wagster and the three continue the journey begun between the reels of tape. The live record, A Day Behind The Deadline, was recorded over the course of several years, three cities, and four venues. This document of Winter’s live prowess gives further context to the songs on the last album, then rounds it out with one from his 2020 album on Worried songs, bowing out of the record with Eli flying solo on “The Time To Come.” This collection’s a great bridge between where the last album left us and where Winter will take us next. The record’s out today from Three Lobed.
