Cara Beth Satalino – “Little Green”

Avatar

A second single slips quietly out from the new album by Cara Beth Satalino. The songwriter’s third solo work outside of her band Outer Spaces is a quiet, contemplative collection of folk vignettes. The title track finds Satalino strumming over the slight quiver of cello. It’s sparse, the kind of song that streaks the windows like cold Spring rain. There’s a quiet resolve to the cut, a hope for change. Satalino’s delivery, quietly crushed by the weight of the past, looks to the future with a timorous resolve while Dan Kassel’s cello plays with a twinge of Cale-like tension, twisting underneath Cara Beth like knots in the stomach. The new album, Little Green, is out May 3rd from Worried Songs.
