Axis: Sova – “I’m A Ghost”

Another burner out of the upcoming Axis: Sova record this week. Brett Sova’s been honing the hot tar haze of the band over the past few years, emerging from the fuzz-crusted debris and into something that hovers between glam and glazed. On “I’m A Ghost,” the band continues to pick at the Novocaine and napalm scars of Tubeway Army, while lacing in a more lascivious guitar itch — festering with fumes of Magazine, Soft Boys, and Simply Saucer. The latest single tackles not only the haunting feeling under the skin, but the increasing dissociation that’s settled into a life bombarded from all sides.
