Skyway Man – “Long Distance Healing”

Avatar

A soaring new cut from Oakland’s Skyway Man is unleashed this week, and it washes over the listener in reverberating waves. The band’s been vacillating between cosmic country and a towering vision of psych-pop over the last few years and this may be the group at its most grande yet. From the pound of pianos, to a blast of brass and low-slung froth of fuzz, the song opens up under the open skies and lets the sun shine in. The first single, “Long Distance Healing” features backing vocals from fellow West Coast cosmic traveller Kelly McFarling, who crops up on the new album alongside some other RSTB familiar names like Vetiver, Erin Rae, Spencer Cullum, and Molly Sarlé. The new album, Flight of the Long Distance Healer, is out November 3rd from Mama Bird Recordings.
