Silver Synthetic – “The Door”

Silver Synthetic’s 2021 album was a favorite around here, locked on the turntable for a good part of the year and beyond. The New Orleans band’s cosmic country was rooted in clear blue summer harmonies and a good dose of deep hills choogle. The band rounds back with a new track today, but just as a tease, or maybe a bonus. It seems there’s no album in sight quite yet. Still, any day that a breezy strummer from Silver Synthetic is in the air is a good one. There’s a Byrdsian jangle from the outset, chiming in concert with their layered harmonies and a light dose of twang. “The Door” is just the right ripple to usher in Summer’s light. The single is out now from Third Man.
