Marcel Wave – “Stop/Continue”

Another synth-slashed post-punk gem rolls out from Marcel Wave. The band burrows into the ranks of Sauna Youth and Cold Pumas, but embraces a more brittle sound than either. “Stop/Continue” finds the band working through calculated riffs and motorik beats balancing itchy keys with Maike Hale Jones’ acidic vocal delivery, probing industrial ills, growing dread, monotonous existence, and social disease. The single crops up on the band’s new record, Something Looming, out June 14th from Feel It Records and Upset The Rhythm.
