L.A.’s Love Fiend dig into the twitchy New Order and synth punk that fed out of the Midwest ‘80s and has continued to flow from the Aussie imports over the past few years. Nodding to Devo, Starter, Austmuteants, Smarts, and School Damage, the first single from the band’s upcoming Handle With Care rides in on insistent synths, sax scorch, and jagged plastic riffs. The accompanying video is a barrage of color and kitsch, feeling every bit like the heirs to the New Wave weirdness. The new album hits shelves July 12th from In The Red.
