Screensaver – “The Guilt”

Swooping into their second album, Aussie synth-punks Screensaver land hard with “The Guilt.” The first single off of the upcoming Decent Shapes, is wrapped around a hammered-steel pulse, twisted into a heat-warped vision of punk that sears the skin. The bass bubbles in the synapses, the keys leak an irradiated angst, and the vocals of Krystal Maynard vamp with a pinch, preen, and power that’s been passed down from Poly to Corrine Tucker to Jenny McKechnie. The band’s last was an attention grabbing salvo, and it looks like they’re aiming to best that on their second time around. The band’s latest album arrives October 20th from Upset The Rhythm and Poison City Records.
