Another single slips out from Matt Lajoie’s upcoming Red Resonant Earth, a twilight bramble of a track that’s exemplary of the earthen works on his new album. Matt lays down a tangle of acoustic set against his own looped playing, winding around the listener like vines around tree trunks. What’s even better is that Matt’s accompanied the piece with a video featuring his drawings worked into stop-motion animation. Lajoie’s delicately laced artworks have long adorned his works and packaging, but this marks the first time they get the spark of motion and it compliments the soft burble of “Sprout” nicely. The new album is out October 22nd from his (and Ash’s) own Flower Room Records.
