Joseph Allred – “Leaves Dancing In Air”

Every work that emanates from Joseph Allred comes as a welcome brace against the darkness. With one gorgeous, collaborative record already under their belt for 2023, Joseph shows no signs of slowing with a new tape out now for Island House as well. The tape finds Allred back in the solo seat, focusing on the guitar and letting pieces flow from the strings in rainwater rivulets. Album highlight “Leaves Dancing In Air” is given a video treatment, pairing natural imagery with digital manipulation, mirroring the song’s inner light. Over the song’s eight minutes, the strings capture an autumnal sweetness that gets into the pores, a new favorite among their swelling ranks of releases.
