The Umbrellas – “Gone”

So many singles out today, but I’d be remiss not to mention a third peek into the new album from SF’s Umbrellas. The band’s polished their jangles for the upcoming Fairweather Friend, and few among the ranks shines as brightly as “Gone.” The vocals volley with a brightness, the strums are as strident as ever, and the band seems to be having the best time skating through the indie-pop sunbeams here. The band themselves admit The Pastels influence that’s made its mark on their sound, but it comes shining though on the latest single, feeling like this could have easily found its way into the rolls of Mobile Safari. The new album is out January 26th from Slumberland.
