The Natvral – “Glass of Laughter”

A second single winds down from the new album out of Jersey’s The Natural. Kip Berman’s post Pains works have taken a decidedly ‘70s denim direction, feeling heir apparent to Petty, Springsteen, and Cohen with a stop along Silver Jews territory as well. The new single slides into some of the album’s themes of imperfect love — times when kindness provides even when the world does not. The song has a rosy warmth to it, like coming in out of the cold, a feeling that’s both inviting and a little overwhelming. The new single lays alongside the already solid charms of “Lucifer’s Glory,” as part of the upcoming Summer of No Light, out September 1st from Dirty Bingo.
