The Laughing Chimes – “A Promise To Keep”

Plenty to love in the jangle-pop jungle today and it looks like a new single from RSTB faves The Laughing Chimes is out and about in the world. Love to see a band with a slow build and Slumberland has done a great job letting the group find their legs in short form releases over the last few years. The band lets out a new track, skewing a bit darker than they have in the past, while thickening their sound. Adding in a bit of Bunnymen and Monochrome Set paired with just a touch of Athens in the ‘80s, the new single is a good look on the brothers. They pair the single with a cover of The Ocean Blue, a ’91 throwback that’s not been on my mind for some time. The band does the cut its due diligence, capturing OB’s sweeping grace. The new single is out now from Slumberland. If the Chimes have eluded you up until this point, its time to dive in!
