The Evening Sons – “Superspreader”

Avatar

West Coast enclave Curation expands its UK stable, adding Brigthon’s The Evening Sons to their roster alongside labelmates Elkyn and Hollow Hand. Though, in truth, the band shares much more in common with the rapidly expanding power pop contingent at Curation, landing their buoyant pounce next to that of The Uni Boys and Billy Tibbals. From the sounds of “Superspreader” The Sons owe a bit less to the ‘70s pomp n’ pounce than they do to the ‘90s strain of pop crunch. Fizzing with an FM bite that feels right at home on the mall PA, the song sidles up nicely to the kind of crunch that kept Superdrag, The Blondes, and The Lemonheads ruling the speakers. The band’s new album, Tracks, is out September 29th.
