Spencer Cullum’s Coin Collection – “What a Waste of an Echo / The Three Magnets (Maston Remix)”

Two RSTB faves find one another in the remix lane today as Spencer Cullum’s latest album gets a bit of a lush pop tweak from Frank Maston. Taking two pieces from the album, opener “What A Waste of an Echo” and instrumental centerpiece “The Three Magnets” Maston melds them into a cosmic blanket of keys and slow-motion curls. The remix gives Cullum’s folk a resplendent treatment, applying the wonder and atmosphere that Maston has wielded in his growing number of productions.
