Private Lives – “Trust In Me”

Avatar

A bit of scorcher reaches the speakers this week from Montreal’s Private Lives. The Canadian quartet captures a match-lit plume of punk on the album’s opener “Trust In Me.” The song percolates on a bubblewrap blister of rhythm, driving the group’s snarl of guitars and feeding into a vocal scratch that snatches from riot grrrl and classic r ’n b alike. They straddle the line between Cable Ties and Detroit Cobras, bobbling through the blast doors with an infectious hi-nrg howl that begs for volume. The band’s debut, Hit Record, is out July 14th from Feel It Records.
