Jim Nothing – “Easter at the RSC”

Avatar

A softer side of the indie pop onslaught today as site favorite Jim Nothing stretches out with a sleepy but satisfying jangler. The second single since December finds the band exploring a more nuanced side of their sound, moving away from some of the taut ‘90s indie that permeated their last LP. The song lopes along, reclines in the afternoon rays, and washes away on a sea of foam and amp froth. Still no album in sight, but along with that last single, it feels like something’s building. Here’s hoping they get tied together with an official release date. For now, why not just put this one on repeat and slide down into the downy jangles and surf along the seething energy that bubbles beneath? The new single is out now from their Bandcamp.
