Itasca – “Milk”

Avatar

Itasca (Kayla Cohen) releases another single from the upcoming Imitation of War, her latest for Paradise of Bachelors. Wrapped in darkness, the song is pinned to snaking guitars and dragged into the shadows by the weight of Cohen’s voice. The song’s demeanor stares the murky depths in the face, haunted and hungry. Itasca’s latest is riddled with references to medieval legends, French playwrights, and transformational paintings. It’s a work that’s absorbing the world’s darkness and allowing it to light light coal in its heart. Somewhere underneath the veil of shadow there’s a question of faith, Imitation of War won’t let out a straight answer. The new album arrives. February 9th on Paradise of Bachelors.
