GospelbeacH – “Hang Thyme”

It’s a damn fine day for Americana and few things could prove it more than a new video from GodpelbeacH. The band preps their final album Wiggle Your Fingers for Brent’s own Curation Records this Spring. Following on an EP of covers from 2021, this is the band’s first album proper since Let It Burn and they knock into it nicely with first single “Hang Thyme.” Creeping with a bit of existential dread, the song’s packed with a pop shagginess that comes on like Petty dipping deeper into the country cooler. With pathos aplenty, the song’s tied up tight and leaving a wink and a nod at the songwriter sidebar from Levon to Zevon, a formidable addition to the band’s already airtight catalog. The new album finds its way onto shelves April 8th, but for now it’s best to just let “Hang Thyme” run around your skull for the next few days.
