Gerycz Powers Rolin – “Activator”

A new single descends from the clouds today from Gerycz Powers Rolin, off their upcoming album Activator. With Jayson Gerycz as their rhythmic foil, Jen Powers and Matthew Rolin extend the impulses of their duo work, letting shimmering tones sparkle through the speakers. The album’s title track is restrained, feeling like a flower just starting to bloom as it begins. The cut is ably paired with a smeared botanical video from Peter Shapiro that only serves to heighten the feeling. As the trio take the listener through the song’s nearly 11-minute journey, it bursts into rhythm and color, a joyful highlight from the new LP. The band’s new album is on the way early next year, and it’s a perfect day to get it on order. Activator arrives January 12th from 12XU.
