Chet Sounds – “Open Your Eyes”

Third Eye Stimuli is having a pretty banner year, and the latest single from Chet Sounds only solidifies that fact. The band, a solo outing from Uplifting Bell Ends’ Chet Tucker, moves away from the Bell Ends’ ‘70s country comforts and towards a lonesome troubadour aesthetic — finding footing in the deep end ennui of Brian Wilson, Burt Bacharach, and Shaun Harris. “Open Your Eyes” is blanketed in just a touch of cottony production, but among the soft dander, Tucker’s jazz-swung leads cozy up to strings and vibraphone with ease, letting a little gilding glint through the dust. The new album, Changes Happen To Everyone, Everywhere, is out October 27th from Third Eye Stimuli.
