The Stroppies – “Smilers Strange Politely”

Every single that’s found its way out from this new Stroppies record has been a delight, and the band doesn’t look to stop that momentum with “Smilers Strange Politely.” A tangle of guitar underpins the band’s slightly warbled melodies, propelling this jangled indie gem into the earworm center of your bright right quick. The album’s already sitting pretty high on my list of anticipated releases for 2022, but this one just pushes it over the top. The song makes good use of vocals from new member Zoe Monk (Eggy, Thibault, The Opals), finding her meshing into the band’s dynamic with seamless ease. The band pair the cut with a bundled up video with a cliff side view. The new album, Levity, is out May 6th from Tough Love.
