Even with a new album on the horizon, Glenn Donaldson can’t stop the flow of singles that roll out from Bandcamp, and we’re all the better for it. A bit less hazy than the upcoming Summer at Land’s End, “I Still Owe You Everything,” is an overcast lament with a lightly bouncing beat. Heartache mixes with regret for a song that’s somehow both hurt and hopeful. Where some laments might harbor a tinge of resentment, Donaldson’s ode to lost love is filled with a bittersweet gratitude. He backs the song with a new collaboration with Clay Ruby (Davenport, Horrid Red, Zodiacs) — a twilight crusher that’s quietly picking up the pieces in the stillness. This ought to tide you over just a bit until the new album lands on Slumberland in February.
