Sunburned Hand of the Man – “Ishkabibble Magoo”

A second single from the upcoming Sunburned Hand of the Man record finds the band in pure melodic form. After the Peter Gizzi poetry intro that served as the first single, this one skews away from the usual Sunburned brain fry and outer atmosphere transmissions for a jangler with a sly smirk. With chiming guitars and a flippant hook, this could have beamed in straight out of the ‘90s college rock canon, but it’s just as fitting that it comes from the camp of creation that forms the crux of Sunburned Hand of the Man. The band’s latest record catches the band exploring all corners of their output, from psychedelic spoken word, catchy alt-smokers, kosmiche float, and, yeah, the ole brain fry. It’s priming to be one of their best. The new record, Nimbus, is out April 12th from Three Lobed Records.
