Shannon & The Clams – “The Moon Is In The Wrong Place”
A dark, driving new single out today from longtime favorites Shannon & The Clams. Pushing aside the usual cracked plastic veneer that wraps their works, the band lets their steam-powered garage rock run rampant. Fuzzed and fuming, the single and record explore the pain and loss of a loved one. The title, a reference to the world feeling out of balance, sums up the album’s vibes — a record written in the wake of tragedy, forever feeling like a fundamental shift has taken place. It was a phrase that Shannon’s partner used prior to his untimely passing, and it stands as a theme in all that runs through the new album. The band pairs the song with a video tinged with a ripple of psychedelic seance and sci-fi shudder. The new record, The Moon Is In The Wrong Place, is out May 10th from Easy Eye Sound.
