Langkamer – “Hamlet”
by Andy
A fuzzy, twang-washed new cut from Bristol’s Langkamer accompanies the band’s new EP. “Hamlet” skids out of the speakers with a touch of ‘90s alt-country flair. Embracing the crunch of guitars, the band turn their sights towards Wowee Zowee-era Pavement, Sparklehorse, and The Replacements. “Hamlet” lets itself lean into the amble, recalling a bit of the slacker-pop aesthetics that have fallen away from current tastes, but the band makes it work putting on their best Malkmus masks and sounding like they’re having a ball doing it. The new EP, Red Thread Route, is out now on Breakfast Records.
