Ezrat – “I Know What That’s Like”
I missed this one on Friday, but you can make any day Bandcamp day if you want to. Ezrat have been kicking out a nice stream of singles since their debut album and each one is as good as the last. “I Know What That’s Like” rises out of the late night haze with a comedown cool. There’s just enough dancefloor bass wiggle in there to keep the heart pumping, but at its heart this is a power pop track that nips at the warm hart of ’79. With an overdose of handclaps, lovelorn lips, and the kind of beat that might move a few asses out of their seats, this is a nice new direction for the post EZTV project that Ezra Tenenbaum has built up over the last couple of years. The humid hum of August is upon us and this one is in full sway of the summer swelter. If you missed it last week too, there’s never a bad time to pick up a lost single.
