More news out of the Emily Rose camp. I missed this one a little while back, but after the the Pink Mountaintops single that featured Rose cropped up this week, news of her upcoming LP with The Rounders kicked up my way as well. While Rose is likely more known around these parts for her work with Ty Segall, with the The Rounders she embraces a more trad country sound. Echoing Patsy Cline, Bobby Gentry, and Gram Parsons deep into “Streets of Baltimore” territory, the new single sheds her garage past completely. “Wildfire” shows off Rose’s soulful croon and a brokenhearted hue that’s offset by the band’s dance floor twang. Her eponymous debut is out February 25th on Mock Records.
