EggS – “How It Was Before”

Avatar

Last year brought a new EP from the elusive French outfit EggS, a four-cut crop of perfect jangle n’ strum that only solidified the band’s growing reputation as pop underdogs on the rise. Thickening up their sound, a new single “How It Was Before.” finds the band swelling to a seven piece with Margaux and Camille from fellow French janglers En Attendant Ana jumping on board and rounding out the ranks to pop perfection. The song strums with an earnestness that’s been in the band’s pocket like a lucky charm all through their previous releases. The male/female vocals volley back and forth before they let in a sax stab that runs this ‘round like an indie-pop “Baker Street.” The single is the first dip into a new album, A Glitter Year, on the way as a split release between their previous homes at Prefect and Howlin’ Banana on November 4th. This one’s shaping up to be an album to watch so keep your ears perked.
