A second single from the upcoming Alien Nosejob confirms that Jake’s gone full force rock n’ roll on this album, shucking away the outfit’s previous skins soaked in disco, new wave, and post-punk. With a dirty riff that lives up to the name, “Shuffle Boogie” the song brings a pelvic pulse to the Alien Nosejob catalog that’s passing pretty easily into ‘70s rock homage. The new record is rife with nods to AC/DC, Rose Tattoo, and Thin Lizzy. It’s not a shift I’d expected out of Robertson, but I guess that’s what makes it so entertaining. The new record, Stained Glass, is out November 25th from Anti-Fade/Total Punk.
