Vessel – “Lost Appeal”

Avatar

A new single from Atlanta’s Vessel finds the band wrestling with opposites. The upbeat snap of bass and soft purr of the sax belie the song’s sighed lyrics, creating a catchy conundrum wrestling with the banality of daily life. The listener is bounced from grey cloud to grey cloud, thrown through a tumble of tin lined riffs and tossed out the other end with a melancholy thump. The accompanying video follows singer Alex Tuisku around the house, haunted by her bandmates until the music seemingly breaks the cycle of self loathing. “Lost Appeal” turns up on the band’s upcoming album, Wrapped In Cellophane, out April 2nd from Double Phantom Records.
