Mixtape: Home In The Country

It’s becoming a bit of an annual tradition to wrap up some favorites from the Cosmic American landscape alongside the year-end list. This year is just as packed with great albums, EPs and singles from some familiar names and quite a few new ones as well. What’s nice about the mixes is that it catches a few favorites that wouldn’t make the album’s list by default – singles from Lady Apple Tree, Emily Rose, Emmett Morris, and Tobacco City get a chance to shine. Even a cut from an upcoming release from favorites The Hanging Stars sneaks into the mix and an excellent cover from Pearl Charles & Michael Rault off of one of the most essential compilations of the year: Torn & Frayed’s Prairie Biscuits. It’s a sun-baked end to the year that should get you through the cold nights ahead.
