Jeffrey Alexander + The Heavy Lidders prep subscription-only LP

RSTB faves The Heavy Lidders are back with a limited LP, only available through their Bandcamp subscription. The band, featuring members of Dire Wolves and Elkhorn has long been a staple around here and I can’t recommend this one enough. Recorded over the last year, the record opens with a blistering side-long jam that goes deep into the Trad, Gras ether and features Sunwatchers’ Jeff Tobias on sax. Two more originals round out the album, with Drew Gardner slipping a bit of Elkhorn’s recent vibraphone vibrations into the Lidders’ universe. The set caps with a massive cover of “Almost Cut My Hair,” giving an elevated air to the CSNY classic.
