Daniel Romano’s Outfit – “Chatter”

The singles out of the new Daniel Romano are coming quicker than I can keep up, but a quickened pace is at the heart of the upcoming Too Hot To Sleep. The first single was scraped from the scars of ‘00s garage n’ roll and the second seems to be hitting the power pop and punk buttons quite nicely. While the phone cord wrapped aesthetics let slip a few nods to The Nerves, the song itself is bristling with a bit of Jay Reatard’s Matador Days energy, with proper due to The Adverts and Wire bubbling underneath. The new record is already proving to be as hot as the title, looking forward to it once it lands March 1st from You’ve Changed.
