Cable Ties – “Crashing Through”

Avatar

Over the last couple of years its been a joy to see Cable Ties soar in stature. The Aussie trio has long been serving insistent punk anthems anchored by the gale force greatness of singer/guitarist Jenny McKechnie. The band’s headed into their second album for Merge this week and they continue to coerce the unrest of youth into calls to action that also have a way of getting stuck in your head. The new album is an indictment of broken systems, emotional labor, and social imbalance. It’s also a joyous explosion, a cathartic exercise in unburdening. Opener “Crashing Through” does little to ease the listener in, instead hurtling them headlong into the abyss, rallying the senses for the explosion of color and sound to come. Check out the video for the track above and pick up the band’s new album, All Her Plans, out now on Merge Records and Poison City.
